068/365 :: A light for Layla <3

For a few weeks now, I've been following the Layla Grace story.

If you haven't read or heard what me (& millions of other people) are talking about, Layla Grace is a 2 year old little girl who had stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. I learned of the story on my Livejournal friends' page while people were raising money to help pay for some of her medical bills.

Along with many many people, we were hoping so so hard & praying like crazy that little Layla would pull through and kick this terrible mess. That she would gather some strength & overcome it all.

Unfortunately, this didn't happen and we will never understand why God takes those who he does -- but all of our thoughts go out to her and her family as she moves on into heaven to become one of those beautiful little angels. RIP Layla Grace, 11/26/2007 - 3/9/2010.

Tonight, I have lit a candle & had a moment of silence to remember not only Layla, but any and all loved ones who have been lost to Cancer. I praise the survivors, as well as people that walk and race for a cure, constantly looking to raise money to benefit others. This has definitely took a toll on my life, as well as many others, helping me to look at what I have and be so thankful for it. For at any minute, anything, even a precious child -- could be gone.

Oh, I also had my contacts in. True old age happening before my eyes!
